Why bank statement PDFs need a specialized converter
Bank statement PDFs are structurally different from most documents. A generic PDF-to-Excel tool doesn't understand them — here's why.
Multi-column table layouts
Most banks print transactions in 3–5 column tables. Generic converters extract these as unstructured text, losing the relationship between date, description, and amount.
Separate debit/credit columns
Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and others put withdrawals and deposits in separate columns. A standard converter can't merge these into signed amounts without understanding the layout.
Scanned image PDFs

Varied date formats
