We built the tool we wished existed.
It started the way most side projects do — with a personal problem nobody else was solving well enough.
A few of us were trying to get a clearer picture of where our money was actually going each month. The bank apps showed lists of transactions, but no real structure. We tried spreadsheets — copy-pasting transactions, manually labeling every row, building pivot tables. It worked, technically. But it took hours, and most months we just didn't bother.
We tried a few "bank statement analyzer" tools. Most of them wanted us to connect our bank accounts (no thanks), install desktop software, or pay $30/month for features we didn't need. Some of them were clearly built for accountants, not for someone who just wants to know why they spent $400 more this month than last.
So we built our own.
The idea was simple: upload a PDF, get a clear breakdown. No bank login, no desktop app, no 45-minute onboarding. Just drag a file, wait 30 seconds, and see where your money went — with categories, a visual flow chart, subscription detection, and a CSV export if you want the raw data.
We started using it ourselves every month. Then friends asked for it. Then their friends. At some point we realized this should just be a product that anyone can use.
What we care about
Privacy first. Your PDF is processed in memory and never stored on our servers. We don't ask for bank credentials. We don't sell data. Anonymous analyses auto-delete after 7 days. We wrote a plain-English privacy policy that explains exactly what happens to your file.
Simplicity over features. We'd rather do one thing well than add 50 toggles nobody uses. Upload a PDF, get a report. That's it. If it needs explaining, we redesign it.
Free tier that's actually useful. 3 pages per month, no credit card, no account required. That's enough to fully analyze one month's statement. We charge for volume, not for basic access.
Who we are
We're a small, independent team — no VC funding, no corporate parent, no board meetings. Just a few people who care about personal finance and think understanding your own spending shouldn't require an accounting degree or a $30/month subscription.
We use this tool ourselves, every month, on our own bank statements. That's the best quality bar we know: if it's annoying to use, we fix it, because we're the ones annoyed.
If you have feedback, a feature request, or just want to say hi — reach out. We read everything.
