Bank statement reader
Upload a PDF — AI reads every transaction , categorizes spending , and exports to Excel instantly. Digital PDFs, scans, and phone photos all work — OCR runs automatically when the file has no text layer.
A bank statement reader extracts transactions from a PDF or scanned image. Upload the file and the reader uses OCR and AI to identify dates, merchant descriptions, amounts, balances, and categories. Review the result before exporting it to Excel or CSV.

What the reader gives you back
Reads difficult PDFs first, then turns them into transactions you can review, analyze, and export.
AI reads any format
Works with text PDFs, scanned images, and any bank layout worldwide. No templates needed.
Auto-categorization
Every transaction sorted into 19 categories — groceries, transport, utilities, salary, subscriptions.
Export to Excel / CSV
Download all transactions in a clean spreadsheet — ready for accounting, tax prep, or budgeting.
Spending insights
Monthly totals, top spending categories, income vs. expenses, and trends across statements.
Multi-page support
Upload statements with dozens of pages. The reader processes all pages and combines transactions.
Privacy-first
Your PDF is processed in memory and immediately discarded — never stored on disk, never shared. Only the structured transaction data is saved to display your results.

AI-powered
Reads cryptic merchant names — identifies the real business
“SQ *BLUE BOTTLE COF” becomes “Blue Bottle Coffee” in Dining. “AMZN MKTP US*2K7”becomes “Amazon” in Shopping. The AI understands merchant codes that would take you minutes to decode.
Each transaction is classified into one of 19 spending categories automatically — giving you a complete picture of where your money went without any manual sorting.
How it works
Three steps to read your bank statement
Upload your PDF
Drop your bank statement — digital PDF or scanned paper. JPG and PNG images also work. Any bank worldwide.
AI reads & categorizes
Every transaction is extracted — date, description, amount — and assigned one of 19 spending categories automatically.
View insights & export
See your full spending breakdown, top categories, income vs. expenses. Export to Excel or CSV with one click.
Read your bank statement digitally — no manual entry
Reading a bank statement manually means scrolling through pages of transactions, mentally adding up categories, and hoping you don't miss a charge. A digitalbank statement readerdoes all of that instantly — scanning your PDF, identifying every transaction, and extracting the key fields. What takes an hour with a highlighter takes the reader 30 seconds.
Our reader handles both digital PDFs andscanned documents. If your PDF contains selectable text, extraction is fast and precise. If it's a scanned image, OCR reads the pixels first, then AI processes the text. Either way, you get a clean, structured list of every transaction.
The reader works with bank statements from any country and any bank — Chase, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, HDFC, Commonwealth Bank, and thousands more. Upload your PDF, and within seconds you have a fullfinancial breakdownwith export options for CSV and Excel.
What bank statement extraction software has to get right
Pulling text off the page is the easy half. These four are where extraction tools actually differ \u2014 and what to test with your own statements before committing to one.
Knowing what is not a transaction
Statements carry headers, carried-forward balances, interest summaries, and page footers. Software that treats every number as a row hands you a table you have to clean by hand, which is the work you were trying to avoid.
Layouts it has never seen
Template-based extraction breaks on the first bank outside its library. This reads the structure of the page instead, so a regional bank or a foreign format is not a special case.
Balance math as a correctness check
Opening balance plus credits minus debits should equal the closing balance. When it does not, a row was missed or misread — the check that tells you the extraction is complete, not just finished.
Getting the data back out
Extraction is worth nothing sitting in a dashboard. CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX, and QBO all export, and the API returns the same rows as JSON when the statement feeds something you are building.

Secure
Your PDF is processed in memory and never saved to disk. All data is encrypted in transit.

Private
We never sell or share your financial data. Anonymous uploads are auto-deleted after 7 days.

Transparent
No hidden fees, no account required. Try one statement without an account; the free upload is one-time, not monthly.
