FNB Bank Statement PDF Password: Format & How to Unlock
Quick answer
The password for an FNB e-statement PDF is the last 4 digits of your SA ID number + last 4 digits of your account number — 8 digits total, no spaces.
Password format
Format
[Last 4 of SA ID][Last 4 of account number]
Worked examples
SA ID 9001015800087 + Account 62345671234 → 00871234
SA ID 8505204321089 + Account 12009876543 → 10896543
SA ID 9912255678900 + Account 62100012345 → 89002345
Where to find the inputs
- SA ID: printed on your ID book / smart card, Aadhaar for non-citizens, or in the FNB App under Profile. Use the last 4 digits.
- Account number: top-right corner of any previous statement, or FNB App → Account Details. Use the last 4 digits.
- Joint account: use the primary account holder's SA ID.
- Credit card: use the credit card account number (from the statement), not the card number itself.
How to unlock
- 1Download the PDF from the FNB App, FNB Online Banking, or the email
- 2Combine: last 4 digits of your SA ID + last 4 digits of the account number = 8 digits
- 3Open the PDF in Adobe Reader, Preview (Mac), or a Chrome tab
- 4Enter the 8-digit combined password
- 5To remove the password permanently: File → Print → Save as PDF
Common mistake: people often try their full 13-digit SA ID. FNB uses only the last 4 digits. Similarly, use the account number's last 4 digits, not the card number.
For other South African banks see our complete SA bank password guide — it covers Standard Bank (last 6 of SA ID), Nedbank and ABSA (full SA ID), and Capitec (last 4 of mobile).
