Where to find the inputs

What is the password for an FNB statement PDF?
The password for an FNB (First National Bank) e-statement PDF is the last 4 digits of your SA ID number followed by the last 4 digits of your account number — 8 digits total with no spaces. Example: SA ID ending 8700, account ending 1234 → 87001234. This applies to savings, cheque, current, credit card, and loan statements.
Why does FNB combine SA ID and account number?
FNB deliberately uses two data points so a leaked SA ID alone can't decrypt your statement — an attacker would also need your account number. It's a compromise between usability (shorter than the full SA ID) and security (requires two pieces of information). The result is an 8-digit numeric password unique to each account.
Where do I find my account number for the password?
Your FNB account number is on any previous statement (top right corner), in the FNB App under Account Details, on your bank card (for some cheque accounts), or in the welcome pack when you opened the account. The number is typically 9–11 digits — use the last 4 for the password.
What is the FNB credit card statement password?
Same 8-digit format: last 4 of SA ID + last 4 of credit card account number (not the card number itself — the account number printed on the statement). Older FNB credit card statements (pre-2018) sometimes used only the last 4 of the card number; try that as fallback if the combined format fails.
What if the FNB password doesn't work?
Confirm you're using the account number (not the card number or cheque book serial). Double-check both halves: 4 digits from SA ID + 4 digits from account = 8 total. For joint accounts, use the primary holder's SA ID. For older PDFs, try the 13-digit full SA ID as fallback. Call FNB on 087 575 9404 if the password still fails.
How do I download an FNB statement?
FNB App: open the app → My Bank Accounts → tap account → Statements → select period → Download. FNB Online Banking: log in at fnb.co.za → Accounts → Statements → choose period → Download PDF. Both produce a password-protected PDF with the 8-digit combined password.
How do I remove the FNB PDF password?
Open the PDF with the 8-digit password in Adobe Reader, Preview on Mac, or a Chrome tab. Use File → Print → Save as PDF to create an unlocked copy. The re-saved PDF opens without a password and can be forwarded, edited, or uploaded normally.
