FAQ

Bank statement to QuickBooks FAQ

How do I import a bank statement into QuickBooks Online?+
Upload your PDF bank statement on this page. Our AI extracts every transaction and generates a QBO file. Then in QuickBooks Online, go to Banking → Upload transactions → select the QBO file. QuickBooks reads the transactions automatically — no column mapping required.
Which file format does QuickBooks Online use for import?+
QuickBooks Online accepts QBO files (OFX-based XML format) for direct transaction import via Banking → Upload transactions. It also accepts CSV, but CSV requires manual column mapping. QBO imports in one step with no configuration.
Can I import a PDF bank statement directly into QuickBooks?+
QuickBooks cannot read PDF files directly. You need to convert the PDF to QBO format first — which is exactly what this tool does. Upload your PDF here, download the QBO file, then upload that to QuickBooks Online.
Does this work for QuickBooks Desktop?+
QuickBooks Desktop uses QIF format, not QBO. Use our bank statement to QIF converter for QuickBooks Desktop, Pro, Premier, or Enterprise editions. This QBO converter is for QuickBooks Online only.
Will QuickBooks duplicate transactions I already imported?+
QuickBooks Online uses the FITID field in the QBO file for duplicate detection. If you've already connected your bank or imported the same period, QuickBooks will flag potential duplicates before importing. Always review the preview before confirming.
Which banks are supported?+
Any bank worldwide that provides PDF statements — Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, Capital One, Barclays, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, Santander, TD Bank, and thousands more. Scanned paper statements also work.
Is my bank statement data kept private?+
Your PDF is processed in memory and immediately discarded — never stored on disk, never shared with third parties. Only the structured transaction data is used to generate your QBO file.
