Frequently asked questions
What happened to Mint?
Intuit shut down Mint on January 1, 2024. The app had been one of the most popular personal finance tools since 2006, offering bank account syncing, spending categorization, and budget tracking. Intuit directed users to Credit Karma instead, which doesn't offer the same budgeting and spending analysis features Mint was known for.
Is this a real Mint alternative?
Yes. mybankstatementanalysis replaces Mint's core functionality — automatic transaction categorization, spending breakdown by category, and visual charts — without requiring you to link your bank account. Just upload your PDF statement and get the same insights Mint used to provide.
Do I need to connect my bank account?
No. Unlike Mint, which required you to share your bank login credentials through Plaid, we work entirely from your PDF statement. You download your statement from your bank's website and upload it here. Your banking credentials are never involved.
Which banks are supported?
Any bank worldwide that provides PDF statements — Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, Capital One, Barclays, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Santander, and thousands more. If your bank gives you a PDF, we can analyze it.
Is my data private?
Your financial data is used only to generate your analysis and is never sold or shared with third parties. Unlike Mint, we don't need your bank login credentials at all — you just upload a PDF. Data is encrypted at rest and deleted on request.
What spending categories does it use?
Our AI classifies transactions into 19 categories: Housing, Food & Dining, Transport, Entertainment, Utilities, Healthcare, Shopping, Travel, Personal Care, Education, Subscriptions, Investments, Income, Transfers, ATM & Cash, Business, Fees & Charges, Gifts & Donations, and Other.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. You can analyze your first 3 PDF pages completely free — no account or credit card required. That covers most single-month bank statements. Paid plans start at $9/month for 500 pages.
